@GnosticMedia but my point is in all of this that the authors of the New Testament as well as the Gnostic documents clearly see Jesus as an actual thing not just a myth. The original authors that is in their intentions. The point I am trying to get across is they are using all these documents to make it seem like the original authors are trying to say it was just a myth when that was not their intention.

  3. LifeLibertyLove says:

@GnosticMedia I understand how they tie in the Gnostic sources to try to prove the myth theory but that was not even the original intention of these texts. I have done a little studying into the myth theory however it involves too many ommisions, meaning you have to omit too many things from the texts we have in order to come to those conclusions. I can accept a verse or 2 being added or edited but to say every other verse is just ridiculous. You can say Jesus did not exist but

@LifeLibertyLove This isn’t the documentary, this is a preview for it. Also, If you read Allegro’s The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Christian Myth, who’s work the full documentary The Pharmacratic Inquisition is based on, then you’ll see exactly how this information ties into the Gnostics. At the end of the documentary and companion book, you’ll find several hundred sources used in the book and video. I suggest you start there before you toss out unfounded accusations of things you’ve not studied

  5. LifeLibertyLove says:

@METALSTYGIAN I really don’t see how Jesus is a cover story, this is not the ancient Gnosticism, this is kind of an insult to the original Gnostics actually. I understand the point of the documentary and the people who believe such things, but they in no way have a connection to the legitamite Gnostics.

  7. Silenus6 says:

The truth of one interpretation does not exclude the possibility of another interpretation also being true. If we are dealing with mystical realities here, it seems perfectly reasonable, even likely, that we may discover a multitude of valid interpretations. Truth ought to be multi-layered and multi-dimensional. We should almost EXPECT to find it reflected on many levels. In the stars, in the plants (or mushrooms), in psychology, in other cultures, in our own history, etc.

  8. Silenus6 says:

Perhaps the planets (above) and myths (below) are both “below” in relation to something else? Something may be Yin in relation to one thing, but Yang in relation to another. Perhaps all of this is “below” in relation to a transcendent reality which we may only conceptualize in the abstract (as “above”), with anthropomorphic mythologies, or in the history to which it corresponds? The bard says: “There is more in heaven and earth than is dreamed of in your philosophy,” and “All is true.”

Gnostic’s were not a group of people. We added the plural to it.Do you really think gnostic’s sat around preaching gnosis. The secret is in yesod[ foundation] or root chakra. The kundalini snakes are only symbolic of semen coiling up the spine to the pinial gland from the root chakra or yesod.Labeling ourselfs as gnostics to scripture is just like religion. If it flows upward it gives the feeling of enlightenment,If it flows downward It suck’s.

The fact is you are suppose to take shrooms, peyote, dmt, and others as sacred and in a sacred manner. It just gives you access to info from the cosmos that normally u cant access. And you can also do this on a vision quest with no drugs but you must admit it plays to much in our life and history to ignore.

    Constantine!

  12. IMBUED says:

Thier name is miss leading, Gnostic means one whos knows.

but gnostic’s don’t consider gnosis to be what most people would consider knowledge.

Gnosis is the same as Prajna (Buddhist) and Daath (Kabbalah) its knowlede

wisdom, or direct knowledge of divine. not knowledge as most think.

  13. IMBUED says:

people also see gnomes when on drugs. it doesnt help them, Gnosticism is alot deeper than that.

  14. IMBUED says:

Drugs may give you an experience, but thats it, it wont bring understanding, just amazement, if you want cheap thrills go to an amuzement park :)

Gnosis is more those who seek understanding nature, and whats above nature. To know God, and self.

  15. IMBUED says:

Gnostic is one that has direct knowedge of the divine, Gnosis is direct knowledge, While I think drugs are a cop out, and isnt not needed, and will just confuse people more, LSD opens people up, but theres positive and negitive effects, sometimes permenant, but the point is to get there with knowledge, if one gets thier with knowledge, they understand it, and dont go crazy like many on drugs open themselves to. The human body is fully capable of acheiving this without the use of drugs.

  16. AKSSH72 says:

EXACTLY, on mushrooms the GOD experience opens up! Your so close to understanding yet a million miles from your destination! The only context in which these stories of world religions makes any sense at all is with the use of entheogenic drugs, google it!

  17. LothairApoclyane says:

It helps, but you can also read books.

  18. sportscaster25 says:

mythology is a device used for spiritual teaching. a myth is a public dream

  19. ceetboy says:

the jizzawit priest did it back then.

  20. yticegoat says:

    that’s a great quote

  21. Delisle4 says:

Gnosticism means to know thyself in order to know the true God and the universe around you.

  22. Delisle4 says:

Excellent point. This has also been my experience as well. There is aso the fact that mythology is the way in which early peoples tried to explain concepts and ideas with a limited written or spoken language.

  23. Delisle4 says:

Maybe it has more to do with drugs and the shamanistic experience whic is not a religion persay but a belief system that connects a person living in the Amazon rainforest for example with his own God.

  24. duoinduovus says:

The story of the life of any sage is always written in a mythological manner!

The one who cannot comprehend a Myth does not discover the truth hidden within it.

Whosoever laughs about any Myth that he does not understand, is an ignoramus who walks on the path of idiocy!
